Project Description

By removing the existing narrow second story, Alfonso & Harmon Architects were able to add a new efficient second floor containing three Bedrooms and two Bathrooms to better suit the client’s needs. The entire first floor was remodeled including the Kitchen, Office, and Family Room. Tapered, square columns define the new covered front porch and add street appeal. The exterior design vocabulary of columns is also used on the interior to articulate spaces such as the Kitchen and Dining Room. The bright galley Kitchen is modern yet keeps with the character of the house and has a built-in banquette for family meals. At the top of the stairs is a custom Prairie-style skylight lens bringing light into the second floor landing.
